Loonéy Exilus

Loonéy Exilus serves as Special Assistant at Malta House, where she supports organizational initiatives, community engagement, development efforts, and special projects that advance the mission of supporting mothers and their children.

Her connection to Malta House is deeply personal. Loonéy is a former Malta House mom, having participated in the program in 2019–2020. Returning years later as a member of the staff has given her a unique perspective on the organization’s impact and a strong commitment to helping other mothers pursue stability, education, and long-term success.

Loonéy brings experience across education, college access, student support, and community engagement, with a particular passion for helping individuals navigate opportunities that support their growth and long-term success. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Student Affairs Administration and Leadership at the University of Bridgeport. Her professional development also includes completing the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ Fundamentals of Fundraising program, further strengthening her work in community engagement, relationship-building, and nonprofit development.

At Malta House, Loonéy contributes to community and donor engagement, grant and funding initiatives, organizational presentations, special events, and partnerships. She also draws on her education and student-support experience to assist mothers as they navigate educational opportunities and work toward their personal and professional goals.

For Loonéy, working at Malta House represents a meaningful full-circle experience—from once receiving the organization’s support as a young mother to now helping strengthen the community that once supported her.
